Subscriptions break. Customers refund. Members cancel and re-subscribe. These flows are where loyalty apps fall apart — and where Subscribfy was built to hold.
When a customer refunds an order, Subscribfy claws back earned points and restores redeemed points. Every point movement stays tied to its source event. Most loyalty apps simply ignore refunds.
Loyalty rules can grant bonus points at configurable milestones on membership renewals (e.g. "500 points at the 5th renewal"). Customers who've reached a higher tier get those rewards multiplied by their tier's multiplier — top-tier members earn faster than newer ones, automatically.
Birthday rewards fire at the shop's local midnight, not UTC. A Sydney store and an LA store each reward their customers on the right calendar day — no rewards delivered a day late or a day early.
When a customer is refunded, should their ongoing membership be cancelled too? Subscribfy lets you decide — separately for refunds on the initial signup vs refunds on renewals. A built-in 30-day cutoff protects active subscriptions from being cancelled by old refunds (e.g. late chargebacks).
Shopify webhooks sometimes get lost in transit. Subscribfy runs a nightly job that re-checks successful payments with Shopify directly and rescues subscriptions wrongly marked as failed. Customers don't churn because of a missing webhook.
Customers earn store credit in separate batches, each with its own expiry date. When they redeem, Subscribfy spends the soonest-to-expire batch first. Newer credits live longer, and customers don't lose money to forgotten older batches that silently expire.
When a customer earns points, Subscribfy pushes the new balance to their Apple Wallet card via Apple's servers. Apple sometimes loses delivery confirmations — which can leave future updates stuck and the customer seeing an out-of-date balance. Subscribfy detects this after 30 minutes and clears the stuck push so the next update goes through.
